An annual WES tradition begins soon- the 12 Days of Christmas! Students can participate as they wish to help celebrate the last 12 days of school before Winter break! For Kindergarten through 5th grade students, the first day begins Tuesday, December 5th. For preschool, the first day begins Thursday, November 30, to take into account their Fridays off.

REMINDER: Picture retakes are WEDNESDAY! Any student who was absent on picture day or has moved to Westfall Elementary since picture day, will want to have their photo taken. To order, visit mylifetouch.com with the Student ID or Picture Day ID: EVT4VXW3H. There are a limited number of order forms in the front office for use as needed.

Mrs. Whitt and Mrs. Persinger's third-grade students celebrated the upcoming holiday with a Balloons Over Broadway reverse parade, showcasing their creative balloon designs to our first-graders!

Our students lined the halls and were treated to a special Thanksgiving Day Parade held by our first-graders, who marched their creations through the school.

Our kindergarten students had a special guest in their classrooms today! Mark Ruff from Ruff Farms spoke of the bountiful harvest of the first Thanksgiving and how agricultural production of goods has changed to meet today's growing and changing needs. The students were fascinated to learn that the crops grown in our local fields help others around the globe through a variety of uses, such as food, fuel, and fabric. Thank you, Mr. Ruff, for visiting and sharing your time with us today!

Catch 'em while they're HOT-cakes! Our students had a scrumptious start to the day, catching pancakes for breakfast! Many thanks to Chris Cakes of Ohio, our staff, and our wonderful student council members who organized this event and helped prep, serve, and clean!

We had classrooms full of Scarlet and Gray and some with Maize and Blue! It was OSU vs. Michigan Day at WES yesterday - students & staff supported their favorite team with a school spirit color war! All proceeds from this fun day support the WES Field of Dreams & Student Council.

Mrs. Brandstetter's 2nd-grade class read the book, "How to Catch a Turkey." They made Turkey Traps as a STEM challenge only using cardboard, 5 pipe cleaners, 12" of tape, and a yardstick of string. They did a wonderful job and constructed very clever creations! Great work!

REMINDER: There will be NO SCHOOL Wednesday, November 22, through Monday, November 27, for Thanksgiving Break. School resumes on Tuesday, November 28. Enjoy your time with family and friends!

Our 4th-grade students performed their "Full of Wonder" music program for the entire elementary school yesterday afternoon. It was an incredible performance with upbeat songs, positive messages, and a grand finale black light stick routine. They did a WONDERful job! And kudos to our music teacher, Miss Wynkoop, for choreographing another great concert!

Next week is Thanks-&-Giving Week! Bring a $1 each day to participate in the theme for the day.
